Starhub Internet SIM 2GB/day for 15 Days Valid in 18 Countries @ $32 - OzBargain

Came across this wonderful (or should I say rather revolutionary) travel data SIM while transiting through Singapore on my way to Japan. The lady behind UOB counter mentioned that it's a new data plan by StarHub.

Basically for $32 you get 2GB per day at 4G speed and valid in 18 countries (refer to image for details) for 15 days.

It's absolute treat for travellers to the included countries and transiting via Singapore.

SIMs can be purchased at UOB money exchange outlets in transit area.

There is a similar $18 option available as well for those visiting upto 5 days.

Data is suitable for use in Singapore and for roaming in:-
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Japan
  • Macau
  • Malaysia
  • Myanmar
  • New Zealand
  • Philippines
  • South Korea
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • United Kingdom
  • United States of America

Wow! I'm sure they factor in some "Breakage" on unused parts of the up to 30GB.

Looks great. Any idea how this works on longer stays, or multiple trips? Does one keep the card active and you can reload with the "deal" each time?

any way to purchase in Australia or Hong Kong? going on a trip to Hong Kong, Macau then finally Singapore

Nope.
You got to present ID to get a SIM Card, and be verified.

thats pretty much the same for any SIM card almost everywhere. Most of the world signed up to Anti-terrorism/money laundering internal agreements, that affects phone plans, bank accounts.

Suggest you pick one up in Singers ready for your next trip.

Doesn't seem to be the case for the EU sims though. The 3 UK awesome travel sim can be had anywhere and is activated already. Not sure if they use the details on signup or whatever, but didn't need photo ID
