Statue of Liberty Crown Tickets

Visited the SOL crown in Oct 2013 (day before Govt. shutdown). There were no lines as they only sell about 360 tickets per day. Last couple of flights of stairs are quite narrow, impossible to pass. Extra security after lockers and photo ID is essential. We were the only people inside the statue for the duration of our visit apart from two employees stationed in the crown. There is a lift to the pedestal about half way up. Supposedly only 4 tickets can be purchased per day, but used 2 credit cards and email addresses to buy 5 tickets with no problem.

The SOL is run by the National Park Service. Back in April 2014 we went up and the crowds were not an issue. Just be aware that the windows are small and the view is not great, however it is still a must and has now been ticked off my bucket list.
