Hey guys,
Just looking for some advice or expirence please. I've moved all my flying from Star Alliance to VA this year and over the past 8 months have racked up 1120 S/C. Had no issues with VA so far - all been really good. But I encounted something odd this week and wanted to double check the infomation I was getting was correct.
Last Wednesday took a domestic flight that took me from 970 to 1050 SC. That should have been enough to move me from Gold to Plat. On Friday I took another domestic that earnt me another 80 SC. Regretabbly, Wednesdays SC didn't post until Saturday and this my 'review' didn't take place until Saturday night. Then Fridays SC came through on Sunday - but because the activity took place prior to my review date Fridays SC have not counted towards requalification.
No whilst it may seem a little petty, its 80 SC and I have moved all my flying over so I decided to call VA and explain the situation. The lady at the Plat line was lovely and said she could see the problem and that yes, Fridays 80 SC should have counted to requal. She put me on hold for 10 minutes to speak to the support staff but came back and said there is nothing that can be done as everything is system generated. She advised that the review date cannot be changed.
I then asked if it was possible to manually add SC and was told its NOT possible. I find this very hard to believe and told her so however she remained firm that its not possible. I politely expressed my disappointment that there appeared absolutely nothing that could be done and she told me she would look further into it and get back to me in the next 2 weeks. Whlist she was fine to deal with, I'm not holding my breath.
Has this happened to others (I'm sure it has)? And if so, what if anything can be done about it? Mine was only 80 SC but I'd be mighty pissed off if it was a 200 SC J Intl leg.
Can anybody confirmed that SC cannot be added manually? Are they able to manually add miles? What sort of compensation should I perhaps ask for in exchange for the 80 SC? 10,000 points?
Any advice?
