I have to get to Dunedin in Feb 2022 and looks like SYD-AKL-DUD is the routing as of now, code sharing the NZ flights with Air NZ. (OT but why would you call your airport a dud?)

When I check the important numbers, the status credits are the same as a SYD-AKL return flight, so it seems no status credits are earned on the QF code share AKL-DUD. I would expect to see at least 10 SC based on the minimum SC offered.
Is there a trick to earning SC? Qantas are not taking calls right now and social media is quiet so I'm not exactly sure how I go about finding this out. All the website says is you'll earn the same SC as a domestic AUD flight.
Yes, it is a QF flight number, yes it is booked one trip SYD-DUD-SYD.

This occurs because AKL-DUD does not exist in the Qantas points & SC calculator/API, so the booking engine doesn't include points & SC for the domestic leg.

AKL-DUD is 660mi so this should be the relevant earning table row for points & SC on that route.

and the below table from the earn categories page matches advertised fare types with the categories shown above.

I'm not particularly familiar with the QF-NZ partnership, could you link me to this?

You must have forgotten about it :)

So I spoke with QF and they tell me they go off the calculator and the people in the status credit and points section will credit me the points and SC after the trip has been completed. We'll see what happens.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Which is all well and good but how's this:

Compared to a AKL-DUD flight:

So which is true?

There are no Sydney to Dunedin flights, so the behaviour of the calculator is correct.

Ok, so work with me here as I obviously do not understand.
The AKL-DUD flight will attract points, but won't calculate on a Syd-DUD direct query?
I will get points for both legs at the calculator rate but my booking may/will not show the total amount of points and SC.

The calculator doesn't return results for routes that don't exist.

You will earn points and SC for both SYD-AKL and AKL-DUD when booked on a QF number.
