Hello, I did look on the Virgin but didn't really make any sense.
if I book a flight through points, on take the flight from my Amex card do I still collect status credits?

thanks!

No status credits for Amex free flights, or normal rewards flights. There have been some reports of people changing their amex free flights into a more expensive type of fare, at a cost, and then earning. Virgin/Velocity also offer any seat awards that cost more points/$$$ that will earn Status Credits.

The any seat awards are still available and are not always stupidly expensive. But certainly are more expensive than a reward seat.

Thanks, how do you buy an any seat? I have ever seen /been able to get a reward seat.

I'm half assuming you replyed to my post Medhead.

I just walked in the door from a 5 hour commute and a tad tired and for soime reason didn't notice your reply. When I saw I basically said the same as you, I deleted it. Sorry for the confusion.

Do a normal flight search but then select the show in points option. That will then show normal reward flights and also paid fares in points.

I thought you made an important point about the cost of the any seat flights. They are mostly stupid expense, but still exist. Hence my reply.
