Status extension / relief speculation

My current status ends 31/01/2022. I was platinum for many years but when the lockdown started in 2020 I had my flights booked but no flying so I was dropped to gold This was then extended to 2022 with a flight as required.
It now seems that I will slip further as I wont get the 275 more I need to maintain gold.

I am just trying to understand this. Did you have Platinum up until 31/1/21? If so, that should have been extended under the first offer without the need to do anything.

Did Covid lockdowns really prevent you flying before the end of January 2020?

Retain or regain? If you dropped at the end of January then it was by not flying enough before the lockdowns.

Sorry but from what you've posted this makes no sense to me.

You had Platinum until end Jan, 2020. That is your anniversary date. You then dropped to Gold, which suggests you did not earn enough SC between Feb 1, 2019 and Jan 30, 2020 to retain (ie: 1200). This was all pre-covid, so none of the status stuff since then applies to platinum status, but to the Gold you had. I'm not entirely sure where March comes into it?

If your anniversary date is, in fact, 31 March as is implied from this comment (and not Jan), then dropping status in Jan 2020 makes no sense.

Now remembering back to March 2020 the first bunch of status extensions DID affect those with March anniversary dates the most of all at the time, but this was then redressed later on last year with the "purchase one flight to retain status" offer IIRC.

so whichever way I puzzle through this I feel like there's something missing or misunderstood. apologies. Not trying to appear critical just trying to understand more fully the situation to assist. I may be missing something entirely too obvious (it has happened before!).

Thanks for your patience Richard, I am looking at my stash of documents to clarify my position. When I have done this I will come back to the forum. The repeated lockdowns have clouded my recall of 2019 travel.

There is one plausible scenario - ausfox dropped to Gold temporarily but had 1400 SC worth of travel booked to attain Platinum again. Given their mention of DSCs this would be relatively easy with some long-haul J.
