Status Extension to 2023 or 2024?

Seeing Qantas have just done it (and MANY foreign airlines) seems a no-brainer really.

Seeing as though many are getting an extension at the end of September, I'd say we'd be hearing anything closer to that time.

Also, given that there are minimal places that the majority of status holders can fly right now, the cost of extending status is minimal. The only people who are probably able to retain on their own steam would be FIFOs intra-WA.

I'm expecting they grant everyone another 1 year extension so essentially to end of September 2023 likely subject to booking 1 flight.
Also, expect there will something about status credits for flights between 1 October 2021 - 1 October 2022 being valid for 24 months instead of 12 to encourage revenue flight bookings instead of burning through points for flights.

My Qf Plat was due to expire Oct 2020, then extended to Oct 2021 and now to Oct 2022....the cost to Qf?... $0!! I have not been to any Qf lounges in that time. My only flight was an award flight Syd-Nlk J rtn in early April that left from Syd T1...and everything incl all lounges were shut.

Oh I'm so hoping they extend my status! My gold status expires end of September, and I was planning to send a begging email...

I got dropped to Gold about 200 SCs short - which I usually easily rack up with a trip to Europe - but there wasn't a lot of good opportunity to do that last year :/
