I am doing SYD-AUH-DUB x 2 on EY booked Z fares in Business Class next week, and then ZUR-AUH-SYD on the same basis 6 weeks later, with family pooling in place.

If I quote Velocity numbers for the EY booking, I figure I should get Gold Status out of the outbound journey and Platinum out of the return. My question is how long does it take the points/SCs to actually show up in my Velocity account and trigger a Status change?

Supplementary questions:

* Will I get two sets of Status goodies (Gold then Platium)due to the 6 weeks between the flights.

* If I am fortunate enough to score a $ paid upgrade to F on one outbound sector, will that complicate things in terms of Velocity processing?

Processing times vary especially for partners. But normally you have credit in less than 2 weeks, and if you don't, you can request it manually. 6 weeks shouldn't be an issue.

Yes you will probably get two sets of status 'goodies' but I wouldn't get too excited unless you like luggage tags, because that is about it. I got my Gold package about 4 weeks after achieving Gold so I think it will be in the mail well before your Platinum status comes through.

If you get a paid upgrade to F in theory it shouldn't matter but there have been reports of that kind of thing delaying credit. Depends on what the F upgrade books into. If it is an award bucket it may take a manual process to post your points. But in 6 weeks hopefully you get it sorted out.
