Hi,
did i miss the email?
syd to bne on discount eccon used to be 10 points
syd to bne on eccon used to be 20 points

today i did a quote on the calculator and it says
syd to bne on discount eccon is 20 points
syd to bne on eccon is 20 points

Why have 2 classes if they both have the same points value, it devalues the tickets, yes you it is flexible but the sames points seems silly..

Is this related to the old Super Saver fares now being classed as Economy for points earning?

Just looked up my usual SYD-DRW which should be 20 SC on a Discount Economy fare and the calculator now has it at 40SC. Agree it is a calculator error but may have something to do with my point above. No more Super Saver fares mean that only the Red e Deal's earn Discount Economy and everything else earns Economy SC's

A few weeks ago I recall reading something that made me think the earn of SC was going to increase like this in discount economy. Trying to remember what & where.

Discount economy earn was not going to increase, it was that more domestic booking classes were to be reclassified as "Economy" rather than discount.

(Basically, domestic "Saver" fares bit the dust with S class being devalued to red e-deal and V, L & M going to "Flexi".

Interestingly the effective 7 July 2011 QFF T&Cs have not been updated to show the new earns. Still shows all but BHK domestic as Discount Y. This is despite the other changes regarding upgrades being made to those T&Cs....

Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

Not correct here either:

Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Status Credits

Still talks about super savers!

Remember that this refers to Domestic and not International. B and K have always been full Y earn on Domestic, but Disc Y on INT

Yup not disputing this...my (on reflection) poorly worded post was simply pointing out that the relevant sections of the website have not all been updated. BHK are showing as full Y (which they always have been) but VLM are still showing as discount Y when in fact they are now full Y earning for SCs.

They have two because discount economy in international is different to economy status credits wise. Domestically they are the same. And yes you must have missed the email, the change came out a few weeks ago.

I can confirm it looks like any economy fare on domestic legs at least as long as not a red e-deal earns full y status credits

I flew tsv-mky on L class fare bucket, I earned 20scs, yesterday I flew cns-tsv in the same fare bucket and earned 10

So im a happy man, would have been nice if this had kicked in on July 1 but better late than never!

That is what the email said would happen, so kind of expected. More interesting is that the calculator is showing extra SC for discount economy, i.e. Red-e-deals.

I guess what I was saying is, like most communication from Qantas there is always ambiguity. Wasn't sure if it was only going to be flights booked and flown from July 7th or if it applied to flights booked before the 7th.

I'm not familiar with all of QF's booking classes - can someone tell me whether domestic E class earns full economy points or only discount economy?

Thanks. I was too quick in posting & too slow in deleting. Need 40 more sc's, looks like a trip to NZ coming up then.

It was stated on AFF by Red Roo that it is all flights from 7 July.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that yes, there is an issue with the calculator. We are working on it now to get fixed ASAP but as it is a coding issue, could be a few days. Sorry if we caused any confusion.

Cheers,
Red Roo
