Hello again,

Do any of the learned experts here know of the current lag time between qualifying for a new QFF status and delivery of the new card and baggage tags? I attained SG on 11 December last year (that is, 5 weeks ago) but haven't yet received my card and tags.

I did phone Qantas today, but the initial recorded message, after referring to the floods in Queensland and the impact on call numbers and staffing levels, pretty much urged one to remain on the line only for urgent enquiries, as wait times were greater than usual. As I didn't see my question as urgent, I hung up!

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

My WP card took about 4 weeks. That was when I qualified in November. as we had the 2 week break over Christmas, I'd say maybe another week or so?

Cheers,

Nick

I'd concur- qualified WP mid November and received pack last week of December.

Got my WP welcome pack about 3-4 weeks after qualifying. I'd give them a call, they are quite helpful :)

edit: Did you call the QFF membership enquiries number 13 11 31 ?

I’d wait until later this evening to call, when call volumes will be lower and it’ll be easier to get through, they should be able to tell you when the pack is being sent, or when it was sent.

I qualified for SG myself on the 28th December and while it’s only been a bit over 2 weeks, am getting a little anxious.

Someone posted in another thread they were told 2 weeks for a similar pack to be delivered recently, so if inventory on tags and such has been low, I assume it must be coming back up now and things will be on their way out soon.

Qualified for PS on Nov 15...still waiting, not planning to travel on QF anytime soon so no big deal but I'll chase it up when things from the floods die down

I qualified for PS on 8 November and still waiting too!
My next flights are with QF and JL in 3 weeks.

Hi! I qualified for SG on 7th November and received my package last week. I think if you qualify for WP then the time it takes to receive your package is very short, however for PS or WG, it's very slow at the moment.

I would be assuming 8-12 weeks, pending on what level you qualified for (PS or SG), before it will arrive.

I'm going to qualify for WP in early Feb, and was really hoping to receive my card before my trip to Hawaii at the end of Feb (so I can access the 1st lounge, despite my whY ticket). I doubt I will be able to get in without my card (as my flight is with J* & their tickets don't show your status).

Good luck, though! I hope it arrives sooner than I think it will!

Print out your QFF Summary page and take it with you should your card not arrive in time. They can can look you up online and confirm your status.

The other thing to remember is that the Christmas break will have slowed things down by about 3 weeks. Worst time of the year to qualify!

Congratulations in advance. You could print your QFF summary page which will state your platinum status. I think you would be able to enter with this and your boarding pass. They could at the very least look up your QFF status.
Enjoy the Flounge. Going there this evening myself:)

You got there before me Nick!

FWIW, Qantas FF is closed Saturdays.:-|

Haha, good to know. I just usually phone them at night as usually get straight through. Interesting time to close, though probably better than a Sunday night before the new week I guess.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

It's not good that some members have been waiting for over 2 months for their new cards. I thought five weeks was long enough (even factoring in the Christmas-New Year period)!

I think I'll give the QFF number a call on Monday to see how things are going. I certainly would hope to have my new card well in time for my USA trip in March!

Lets see...

Qualified for QPPS on the 4th of October (Date that the SC requirement was dropped to 300 v. 350)

QF didn't formally acknowledge this until the 4th of December

And I'm still waiting for the card

Just to add my experience to the pile. I attained PS early november last year and then SG mid december. Never received the PS card or tags and as yet haven't received the SG card or tags.

I emailed qantas start of last week and received a phone call a couple days later telling me they're running low on stock but I should receive my cards in about 3 weeks.

It looks like we qualified for SG at about the same time then. I'd therefore presume that mine will also take about another 3 weeks, which, if true, makes the lag 8 weeks. I don't know whether I'm being unreasonable, but I would have thought that an eight-week delay was quite unacceptable (and, in fairness, I may be jumping the gun on that, seeing as only five weeks has passed thus far).

I'll still give QFF a call tomorrow to find out what they say.

You will probably have to wait til Monday to call. I am pretty sure they aren't open on the weekends.

I guess the timing with NGCI hasn't helped either. When I first qualified for SG my card arrived in about 10 days.. although that was a couple of years ago.

I qualified at the same time, but QF didn’t stuff me around, so I got both an old Silver card and a new one, but no Gold one yet.
