So AirAsia X put their fares on sale mode a few days ago, and didint 'tell anyone. You can still get 200 dollar flights to KL between Jan and end of March from MEL and GC. Sale fares to India and UK and others. The fly through fare to london from aus seems to be 500. :) Use AirAsiaPlus or adioso to find the cheap fare fast

Gets even cheaper... If you book Melbourne to KL, then KL to Paris or london as two seperate tickets ... works out at 392 including taxes

Wow, $392 ow to London is amazing! Still, i'd have to think if i wanted to go all that way on AAX.

Is their premium cabin also on sale or just Y?

Must be using short intra Asia hops to subsidise the long haul. By the time I added up everything MH was the same price, and 40% up on last years prices. My hop was $100 USD all up. Without the 'promo' they would be $20 more than MH, so i hope the plane on the 26th has a bad (good for me) load factor. Going to be interesting if the floods continue - less demand I expect.

It gets cheaper.
Just for giggles I did a search today to get to Shanghai - the KL leg can be got for $86!!
Just curious - how bad are the seats? I will try for the Option Town upgrade, but is 8 hours doable or just incredibly cramp, nasty and depressing?

Air Asia Seats are Fine to sit in.
But when you book, be careful of the 'extras' has AirAsia has now added self no service check-in and fuel surcharge, and stiff airport 'taxes', and I now think a credit card fee. I have never changed a AirAsia ticket,
as I believe the 'deal' stinks. I wish the budget airlines got more real, not just the 100% desperate variety.

KL to Vietnam is now pricey - now over 100 bucks - must be all those bribes and business facilitation charges needed to grease in over Jetstar relative to KL to Australia which was $150 up all in.

This is good news as 'China - Cheaper than Vietnam' is set to put a dampener, as .vn do their best to turn away tourism .
