Stopover in SIN. Transit between terminals

Am doing a SYD-SIN-KUL transfer from Scoot - Air Asia in a few weeks.
Have left 2hr20min which I am comfortable with although a later Air Asia flight which I will book in SYD if flight delayed.

Chose Air Asia over Tiger as it is in the main terminal at SIN, rather than the LCCT (as is Jetstar and Lion, Cebu, Firefly and Tiger in the Budget Terminal)

Unless there has been a recent change JQ and 3K both use the main terminal, not the budget terminal.

As far as I'm aware JQ, 3K and VF have always used Terminal 1.

There were certainly both JQ and 3K flights departing T1 the last time I was there (I walked past the gates!).

Edit: It also looks like Lion use T1.

According to the Changi website the current users of the Budget Terminal are the following:

  • Berjaya Air (J8)
  • Cebu Pacific Air (5J)
  • Firefly (FY)
  • Mandala Airlines (RI)
  • Southeast Asian Airlines (SEAIR) (DG)
  • Tiger Airways (TR)

Changi is an extremely efficient airport. Once your flight gets in, it does not take very long to get out onto the concourse, move between terminals (including budget) or pass through immigration/customs (I assume you won't have checked luggage?).

In my opinion the two variables to worry about are:
  • Inbound arrival time
  • Potential queues to check in for the second flight*

* Remember LCCs have strict check-in times, and often do not employ many check-in staff, leading to long queues.

Harry's Bar in Cactus Garden T1 is my favourite, grab an ice cool tiger beer in the outdoor patio while planes scream down the runway next to you :)
Had 6 hours to kill in Changi yesterday - being solely SQ traveller for 13yrs or so I rarely visit T1 - and whilst I have visited cactus garden a couple times I had never noticed Harry's Bar there so I ventured over last night.

Alas Harry's Bar in cactus garden is no more - replaced by La Cave Winebar and Restaurant. I was flying F with SQ so the Veuve La Grande Dame on offer in TPR seemed a much better proposition than paying for a drink in cactus garden - still will head back and enjoy the ambience another time.

Harrys Bar still operating downstairs though.

Many thanks - found the staff canteen quite easily with the assistant of the pics.
