So I have two quick simple questions.

1) Is there a facility to store hand luggage at the Qantas Business Lounge in Sydney?
2) We arrive in SYD at 10:25AM, but don't depart till 4:00PM. Can I assume that the checked baggage will automatically be placed onto the next flight? It's on the same itinerary.

Basically hoping to spend some time in SYD enroute to OOL from MEL. Got a JASA as well so thought might as well do a lunch in SYD.

Thanks! :)

Your checked baggage should be fine.

As for storing carry-on luggage in the lounge they do have some cupboard space behind them at reception and may put your carry-on luggage there.

The other option is to hire a locker and leave your carry-on luggage there.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick response, knew someone on here would have the answer!

I would have thought storing your carry-on behind the counter in a cupboard would be akin to leaving your bag unattended, from a security point of view? The way I read it was leaving the bag in the lounge and then going into the city!

If you're leaving the airport, a luggage locker will be your best bet.

Have you used the storage closet facility in the SYD First Lounge?

Domestic lounges had their luggage storage removed for a reason, that same reason will no doubt result in a no to any request I would imagine.

Just leave them there, what is the worst that could happen?

They evacuate the lounge and maybe the terminal and call the bomb squad. I left my bag and went to get food and a drink once. A watched it all unfold as the bag was within my eyesight, by the time in returned there were 3 staff members standing around point at my bag asking whose is this.

I've not used them but I'm not aware of storage cupboards in the domestic business lounge.
There are cupboards/drawers behind reception in both Qantas lounge and business lounge.

I am not sure if they would store your bag but it would not hurt to ask.

So after flying today I thought I'd report back.
There is no ability for any lounge to store luggage, instead, there is a luggage storage facility run by SmartCarte next to Carousel 5 in arrivals. Worked well, was around $10 for a bag for 8 hours.
