Regarding DJ vs QF and crediting:
Just adding this from my perspective and of course YMMV:
I have just booked our annual ski trip ZQN rtn with NZ. SYD-xCHC-xZQN-SYD. Downside: no Flounge access in SYD, upside still have lounge access and also bonus lounge access in NZ. Other bennies ie. priority seats, luggage, boarding apply.
To me the the best part is my kids SC's can actually count for something ( VA plat re-qual) instead of expriring without loyalty bonus: are you listening QF ???? The pendulum has certainly swung in DJ ( and partners) favour ( particularly when the fares were $800 cheaper overall and avoided Deathstar :mrgreen: )

Better pre-warn the Shreklets not to ask NZ checkin for directions to the FLounge then.
