Strategy to obtain US Amex

damn, Cap1 is very weird
Maybe the easiest Cap 1 cards we can apply for are their secured cards lol

I have also come across many non US residents on social media who took the trouble (and $$$) to set up their own LLC , getting an EIN , virtual address, utility bills etc just to apply for business credit cards, accounts and loans.

PS : My AMEX FICO score finally showed up, 9.5 months after getting my AMEX Aspire.

So it looks like my Equifax credit file has been split so my 1 year file from Amex has disappeared overnight. I think this might have been too many soft pulls with potentially mismatched information. So do be aware if you you're trying to sign up to too many credit reporting agencies like MyFico that may mismatched info to MQ leading to your profile being split off.

Unfortunately Equifax can't verify me as they don't accept passports via their verification method. They asked me to FAX my ITIN and a bank statement to them and call back after 5 days. Let's wait and see.

I hope that Experian and TransUnion are still okay. I tried applying for a Chase card and was asked to provide ITIN and passport so hopefully that gets thing started again....

Did you try applying for a Chase card from Australia? And do you have a Chase checking account or a Chase card already? Keep us updated. I would like to know your application experience too.

You can have both Venture and Venture X. Funny thing is I got denied for Venture 3 times, one time before Venture X. X was quite easy to get. The last 2 times I tried, they approved Venture One instead which I did not accept.

Did you apply the Chase and Cap 1 cards online ? I always thought you had to visit a branch to apply. If you can apply online successfully, i will give it a shot myself.

Rumours of a 100k targeted bonus for CSP on a smaller USA blog (who probably doesn't have a referral income like Omaat, VftW, TPG, LL, etc)

What is interesting is the radio silence of the big blogs about the CSP. Usually they find some excuse to pop their links in somewhere. Maybe they know a higher bonus for online apps is coming? Hopefully! I desperately want this card before my holiday in 5 weeks and i need a 2 week buffer to get it expedited here.

Omaat, VftW, TPG, LL,
These are all terrible blogs. I wouldn't support them with my traffic if I were you. They never alert you to the best available offers, only the offers available through their affiliate links.

FrequentMiler & DoctorofCredit are far better.

Both have advertised the 90K offer and DoC is reporting the 100K offer. Seems like it is only available through mailers at the moment.

I do follow DoC as well that’s where I saw the in branch offer. But it’s useless to us in Australia. I am looking for signs or hints that a public 90k offer is coming soon. Logically, the big blogs would have a heads up but sworn to secrecy until it goes live. The fact that they are so quiet about the CSP right now could indicate they know a better offer is coming. The banks had a 2 week heads up that was leaked on DoC before it went live.

They don't necessarily have any advance warning. They simply are quiet because they don't stand to earn anything from a 90K in-branch offer.

An elevated online offer is very likely coming, as was implied by the memo to bankers. But impossible to say when precisely it will come. Chase will want to give their bankers a reasonable period to harness the exclusive in-branch offer before releasing the online offer.

Just received my ITIN today. Fair bit after rich, but still heaps quicker than the 12 over weeks originally earmarked for. Now to decide what to do with it first.
Nice!

My Equifax score is busted :( and I think have I split file. I tried to get access to my scores via MyFico which triggered a split when I included my Apt # in the address 1 line. Faxed my passport and ITIN to Equifax so they can verify me but it's an entire mess!

I provided a copy of my passport and ITIN to Chase but haven't heard anything back yet....

Which Chase product did you go for?

I find the Chase WoH card to be great for Australians with a respectable Hyatt in most capital cities falling within the annual cat 1-4 certificate. Good choice.
Yep! Has tangible benefits and a cheapish AF. Hopefully it's approved!

Edit:

Called Chase this morning and got connected to the lending/verification team. They said they were still reviewing the application and I'll get an approval or declination letter in the mail once they've reviewed it. Does anyone know if they'll ever tell you you're denied over the phone?

In my experience, when they tell you "it's still under review", it's a waiting game, might take up to 2 weeks for their back office to review your application.
Wait a few days and if you don't receive an approval email, give them a call to follow up

Thanks Nomad!

Has anyone experienced issues with Chase not being able to send a verification code to their mobile number? Apparently my GV number doesn't seem to work and they can't generate a code for the number.

it will work with a regular postpaid number. It has not worked with GV, textnow and the cheap version of T mobile.
