Strategy to obtain US Amex

Can you request them to send to any USA hotel? My USA friend is having health issues and I can't ask him to go to the post office and send physical cards. He can send me pics of the card so I can use it online. But the whole point if I get this card is for 3x supermarkets and transfer to TK. I wouldn't risk Apple Pay if it triggers fraud alerts, I can't deal with the stress.
This card does not have bonus for supermarket spend ( the premier does ) .

Why don’t you use a virtual add like planet express ? They will then mail / courier the card to you for like A$30-50 .
I've been trying to avoid address changes because it seems to trigger the fraud dept in banks I haven't used for awhile. I did have a Citi Premier and AA cards in the past, all before 2018-ish. Chase has both my US and AU addresses linked to different credit cards. The ones I want to report Fico scores are linked to US and the sock drawered ones are linked to AU. But it seems to help when I call and ask them to send a new card to my AU address since they can see it's been in use for many years.

Ooops I meant I was interested in the Premier.

I just tried for an Amex 90k Gold card using a referral link and I am still in pop-up jail. The last time I applied with Amex was back in Aug 2023 when there was a 60k Green card.

Given that I will be cancelling the Hilton Surpass in July due to loss of Priority Pass and I can't use the quarterly credit more than twice a year if I am lucky, it looks like Amex will be dead to me.

I was also stuck in PUJ for Gold (60k, 75k, 90k), Bonvoy Bevy, Hilton Aspire, Business Gold (150k, 130k) for about 4 months. Last application was August for the Green card.

On 1st Jan I got approved for the Hilton No AF 100k. On the 15th I then got approved for the Business Gold 150k.

No change in spend (if anything decreased spend since I completed the SUBs for Bonvoy Brilliant and Green Card). No idea how Amex’s algorithm works

Same here have been in PUJ for MR cards, applied for Brilliant card and didn’t get the PUJ message though I think they’re also doing the assessment for this one differently as I’ve always got an instant decision. This time, they needed me to upload copies of my ITIN letter and passport. I received instant approval after that. I registered the card under a ‘new’ login just to make sure I’ll get the SUB. Not sure if it’s ‘just’ the MR family of cards I’m in PUJ for. I don’t need any other Amex cards & looking to can gold when it comes up for renewal and soldier on with green.

Applied for Hilton biz Amex card . Declined when I called they said it because i keep carrying a balance - mentioned it’s on my bbp biz card only because I have a promotional balance offer ! Other personal card never has a balance . Asked them to reconsider .

Does anyone have boa or Barclays biz cards ? Are they easy to get approved for from here ?

I dug through my old emails and found my original Amex Premier Rewards Gold card which I got in 2013 and cancelled in July 2014. If that is what is keeping me in PUJ for the MR family of cards, Amex had a very long memory! I also has an SPG Card way back then too so maybe Bonvoy is off the table too. Back then, the minimum spends weren't nearly as onerous!

The only other card I would be remotely interested in is Hilton Business Gold, at least it's $3000/3 months is doable. And it still has Priority Pass. But my old PP visits are valid until July 2024 at which time I will cancel the HH Surpass so I don't want this biz card just yet.

How long does it normally take to get the card delivered to MyUS? The tracking for mine shows the card stuck at At destination USPS facility - SARASOTA, FL since last week

Contact Amex to have another card sent with expedited delivery. That means it will be delivered to MyUS by courier.

Amex will do this if it’s been 10 days.

Or just tell them you are in Australia for business and you want it sent to your Australian "office".

I had this issue with the Green via referral link too, but it worked fine when applying directly without the referral.

The Gold is only 60k without a referral link. Some referrals give 75k others give 90k. I found them by Googling Amex Gold 90k and found some links on Reddit. Not sure if any AFFers have this link.

I am going to apply maza bank and for itin with Google voice number and anytime mail box in USA. Not sure anyone done that before? Any suggestions? Thanks
Did you end up open ITIN and Maza Bank? What is your experience please? Looking to get ITIN and bank account for P2 @fly121

The first time I used Apple pay on my phone because I thought it might actually be more secure and bypass the need for a PIN like it usually does with Aus cards. The next day when I went back after calling Chase and speaking to Fraud dpt I tapped the card. Maybe I'll insert and see what happens. It doesn't look good having multiple declines but as you said the problem might be with the merchant so I'll give Westpac a call also. I noticed that the card in Apple pay had my Aus billing address so i'm not sure if that was a factor but i've gone and changed it to my US billing address. With my Amex cards anything over the amount normally requiring a pin generates a receipt where I just sign instead like we used to Aus credit cards. Not sure if Chase is the same in this regard.

Any update on this @nj12 ? I'm curious!

Yes . Need to sign for large chase purchases .as a dp Citi fraud dept mentions using card thru Apple wallet throws up fraud blocks .
Yes I had no luck inserting the card either. It came back with the same ‘Do not honor’ rejection code. Once again called Chase and fraud department said they needed to verify it was me making the purchase and to try again. I ended up getting an invoice for the total amount and was able to use a link to pay online for the full amount which was about 2k Aud it went through fine. Only once out of the 3 rejections was my account put under review and I had online access the whole time and could use my card for smaller purchases. It seems like a combination of having a new account and smaller purchases followed by a larger purchase triggered a fraud flag but it also could be the merchant terminal not accepting an international card. Still a bit confused but at least I managed to get the spend on the card via online payment.

I just got through the next hurdle from chase, but they want 3 months of bank statements showing salary. Has anyone had this before?

Good morning Everyone.

My Hilton Honor application asking me for proof of address, Sent them the Wise statement with my US Address but they said it's less than 25 days old (I generated it when they asked - of course it's less than 25 days old) Is there any other way to go about this.? I am thinking of leaving it for another 3 weeks and re-upload the statement to be 25 days old, any thoughts please?

My Gold card application is now asking for for 4506. Any insight regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Also for DP for anyone looking into US Phone, I have been using my Talkatone, paying $5/subscription a month for the last 3 months, never failed to receive OTPs.

Re the phone, looks like you have a good plan IMO. I have T-Mobile prepaid at $5/month & using it with WiFi calling to get texts in AU. I have had some issues getting OTP from some banks with it but otherwise works fine.

The other one is TextNow which is an app on the US App Store if you can access it. It’s cheaper but IME received texts from Amex but no one else.

Re your worry about proof of address, most people in this thread use a mail forwarding service.

YMMV
