Strategy to obtain US Amex

Yes - got this one this morning
I got one last year but it expired as I was busy with life - I started the application but from memory had to do a W9 form for the interest/bonus - I stopped and by the time I came back the offer had expired
Anyone have a strategy around this or done a recent application?

Managed to get Pepper registration done - what US ID have people used? I cannot provide any of the 5 they ask for…..

That seems like a lot of work to be honest, 25k USD held up for 60 days. I think there was a 50k points offer for a business checking account, the sofi offer, etc.
Its a big amount for 2 months - but it corresponds to an APR of 8.4% so would be hard to better that if you had the cash flow to allow it to be locked away for 2 months

they wanted to see a lease agreement for the USA address I have which is one for 1Postal...everything else was ok...what strategy did you use?
Interesting - did you do this via Global Transfer? On my first card (Surpass) I only got asked for address proof (so used an HSBC statement). I don’t think they asked but I would have said I’m living with family and don’t have a lease.

Unfortunately not...do not have any US bank account open. Should I open one?
I think you’ve skipped a few steps then - it’ll be very hard to proceed without a US bank account (though not impossible). Most here are using that for address proof (and if you’re eligible for HSBC Premium in Aus you can easily get a US one/statement)

I believe they ask you to provide proof of address; I was in same situation, I tried may time didn't work, but calling this number 866 929 5160 I only provide AU Amex card number and approved. but before they will verify you asking application number and name and US address, be ready for that.
Try tonight, few people I know got approved calling this umber.
