Strategy to obtain US Amex

Without wishing to be a smart a**** I would recommend starting at the very beginning.

The OP gives a good summation of what is trying to be achieved and the basics of how one does it. When I started there was only about 170 pages and, over a few days, I read through the lot. If for no other reason it means that the questions that you subsequently ask are informed.

People on the forum are incredibly helpful (at least that’s what I found) but part of the reason the thread is so long is because the same questions get asked over and over again; and there is, rightly, some frustration with that and people’s desire for an instant fix. There’s many people on this thread that have expended huge time & effort to achieve an outcome, are more than happy to share their experience (I am a happy beneficiary of their knowledge) but do expect a little effort on your part.

In summary you need an Australian Amex, a US phone number, a US postal address and to engage in the Amex Global Transfer process. You also need time & patience. But it is essential that you do the homework.

I don't want to continue to hammer you N0mad but if you think this thread is long, you're going to find it even more difficult trawling through the internet for more DPs. Reddit/FICO forums are a wealth of information and we're talking about thousands of posts where the information you want or some odd experience you had can be explained but is just buried underneath everything else.

If you don't have patience to devote your time to read the few hundred posts, you'll find it incredibly difficult to deal with this "hobby" where general wait times are 3-8 months for some matters to be resolved.
DoC is reporting that a Hilton Biz 130K points link is still avoiding pop-up jail for anyone needing a quick hit of Hilton points: American Express Hilton Business Card - 130,000 Points [Avoids PUJ] - Doctor Of Credit

What is the general acceptable velocity for Amex? Recently got the Amex Gold Biz in December and I've reach the spend limit but I don't want to risk financial review....

What is an acceptable wait time between a first chase card and applying for subsequent cards? CSP was approved in December and I’m thinking of applying for WOH next month as my second card.

No real velocity limits with Amex apart from 1/90 for the exact same card.

I've done 3 cards in a week with them and been fine. FR is triggered by spend velocity rather than card opening velocity. The Hilton Biz MSR is also so low that you don't need to ramp up spend to meet it.

I don't see any problems with going for another card now.

I would wait at least 3 months between first and second Chase card.

Did you get the pop-up when you clicked apply?
No pop up. I do have the hilton biz card though. I just don't want to waste time spending on the card and then get no SUB

I just got approved for plat biz last week. They said it is pending and needed a review so I will call tomorrow.

After being booted from CapitalOne checking account because they thought my account was fradulent (even though it was verified over the phone 3 times) and wanted me to come in to a branch, I have since taken a breather and reassessed my position. I currently have 2 personal US Amexes and a ITIN, would getting an Amex personal checking or savings account from AMEX allow me to start applying again for the CapitalOne and other US cards?

If you're playing the long game, I would get a flight to the US to confirm everything in person. I haven't had this issue nor have a read anyone having it

With CapitalOne there was a fair bit of it going on a while back (3 months). As for the long game, it has already been a long journey. I'm heading to the US soon just thought the Amex savings/checking account might be another option.

My capital one acct was closed as well and I can’t verify it . I have an itin .

I've experienced the same issue with C1. I've chosen to move on. Life is too short though I did want the Venture CC as my non Amex driver in AU. 1.3 FF points (on AUD=0.65USD at 2x for all categories) on Visa is pretty much Amex Platinum earn rate without the rejection associated with using Amex - though there is the currency risk. I think I can try again for this one but would need to change my mailing address from Sarasota as they don't let you use this address for CC apps IME.

YMMV.

Did you go for the 200k plat biz offer? I’m tempted to try for the 150k gold biz or the 190/200k plat biz.

Is there anything to take note of when applying for a biz card with Amex? Like are they concerned with income/projected income and how long the biz has been going for?

I just got the ITIN. Went to Cap1 and was pre approved for the Visa Signature card. I applied and asked to send 1.Passport 2.ITIN letter 3.Proof of income (bank statement)
Uploaded on the 12 Feb.
Today the 15th, they received all the docs and the rep said process take up to 3 weeks?
Is this normal?

Thanks

No missed that and got a 120k offer - rip

A couple of things with amex - industry: other, age of business <2yrs, income: 5k or lower, monthly expenses: the min spend level of the card dividend by 3

I'm curious how this is going to turn out. Normally we don't provide statements because we don't have a regular source of income into a US Bank account unless you're depositing money every fortnight/month.

I have Wells Fargo checking that I opened last year for wire transfer just to pay my US Amex account. Cap1 wanted to see 3 months bank statement, I'll keep my finger crossed if that's sufficient.
