No missed that and got a 120k offer - rip

A couple of things with amex - industry: other, age of business <2yrs, income: 5k or lower, monthly expenses: the min spend level of the card dividend by 3

Yes in that case I will wait 30 days and then reapply
Thank you that’s useful.

I have Wells Fargo checking that I opened last year for wire transfer just to pay my US Amex account. Cap1 wanted to see 3 months bank statement, I'll keep my finger crossed if that's sufficient.
I just got approved with Cap1. Email notification earlier, already registered for online access to my new account. Card will be arriving within 7 business days.

Hi BTS,
Which American state did you open your Wells Fargo checking account ? Did they check your passport for the US immigration entry details and also asked for a utility bill?

PS : Out of curiosity, does your username refer to the famous Kpop group? 😁

Wells Fargo branch in California. Just the main passport page, major credit card as a 2nd ID and proof of address (I used the US Amex statement)
BTS = Kpop group yes :)😜

Thank you for the helpful reply. ☺️ I will include Wells Fargo on my list.
PS: For me it is New Jeans instead of BTS 🤣

Has anyone tried to use a Chase card (specifically an Ink) to pay part of a car? I'm thinking between $6-8000 whatever it takes to do a SUB around EOFY. Does the large purchase trigger any fraud alerts?

For those who don’t have the time/ability to churn cards regularly for SUB, but are still able to rack up decent spending in Aus using their US Amex…

Have you found the US cards still worthwhile in terms of accumulating MR, after accounting for losses in forex when paying off the card ?

Is it feasible to ditch the Aus Amex after a while ?

Yes. Amex Green for 3x on restaurants and travel is worthwhile after a 1% forex loss.

I'm not so sure. I think a US Amex is better complementing an Aus card with the annual MR transfer - earn here, burn there. I wouldn't ditch an Aus Amex altogether unless it was just to serve an 18 month exclusion and get another SUB. (in which case I would be more inclined to put general spend on a Visa/MC during that period)

To be on the saf side, just let the Chase support know about it.

Have your phone with you. I sometimes get Chase fraud alerts for large purchases. It'll decline and I'll receive an email immediately asking if it was me. Once I approve it via email, it usually works the second time.

Or a gold card I suppose .

Not if it is established . Break it up into smaller purchases .

Not sure what you mean. I'm an established Chase customer and still get fraud alerts for big international transactions. And breaking it up into smaller purchases is a classic fraud flag, so no guarantee that will succeed.

DP: I am now able to see my credit score on Credit Karma, which shows a score of 664 from TransUnion and a score of 676 from Equifax.

I only got my first GT Amex Green in mid Dec 2023 and have paid off one bill only. This seems very quick as most people I believe mentioned 6-7 months to see a score....

I have an old SSN which I didn't use for the application GT Amex Green as I was getting declined using it before as it hadn't been active in 20 years and had no credit history. I also signed up for a capital one credit card in early January using my SSN to ensure that my old SSN would be active again and linked to the same USA address etc.

I’ve long been interested in US CC SUB churn, but I suspect I will have the same problems here in Australia. In my current circumstances I cannot substantiate a regular income source, despite an equivalent taxable income from investments etc.

If I initiate an Amex GT and apply for an Amex card as a starting point, will any of the banks/financial institutions NOT ask for proof of income? What would be the best avenue for me?

US banks do not usually ask for proof of income unless conducting a credit review .
