Strategy to obtain US Amex

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The concept of NLL links has largely fallen by the wayside (with limited exceptions) because Amex has largely stopped issuing them this year.

The better way to think about it is, if you can get approved for a card without a pop-up, you will get the bonus. That includes a card you've had before.

One way of getting a bonus on a card you've had before is to check your Amex account often — they regularly target people for new card offers there, even for cards you've already had.
Thanks, "new card offers" - are you referring "view all credit cards under cards tab"?

No, they'll appear at various spots on your account page when you're logged into your Amex account. Either as a pop-up advertisement, as an offer listed on the offers page in amongst all the vendor offers (esp on mobile) or on the right hand column of the page like this:

Aspire Resort Credit DP for Hilton Surfers Paradise if you aren't making a resort booking in the 1st half of the year:

May 8: Purchased a Ms Margots dining gift card on this website: Gift Vouchers
Coded as the actual Hilton hotel initially.
May 11: Received the Hilton Resort Credit cashback.

Currently trying out the accommodation gift cards, will get back to this later in the week.

MsProzac (living in US) has asked me about an AA offer she has received by email. "Earn 50,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles"
She has survived without her own credit card until now but I have been encouraging her to get one, or two, whilst living in US.
Any advice gratefully received.

Presumably the Citi Select World Elite or Barclays Aviator Red. If so, she's better off waiting until the Citi 75K offer or the Barclays 70K offer comes around again.

Edit: Something like the Capital One Venture/Venture X or the Citi Premier Strata might be worth considering.

Yes, Citi ADvantage World Elite. Zero fee first year and usd$99 after.
There is also Citi® / AAdvantage Business™ World Elite Mastercard for 70k bonus and fee free 1st year and usd$99 thereafter. I don't know what criteria are required to register for an AA business membership? Do you need to be registered with US tax as a business?

Your legal business name is your actual name (you're a sole prop — ie trading as an individual). Any ID is your SSN.
Thanks, I'll suggest it. More advantageous (Citi® / AAdvantage Business™ World Elite Mastercard - 75k bonus) than the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite Mastercard - 50k bonus?

If this is a first card and no credit history, highly unlikely her card would be approved. However if she has an active credit file then it should be ok. does she have a FICO score? If not, i would recommend to try Amex or go for secure cards. Amex "may" need some CC history. As we did a Global Transfer, amex had our Credit history.
Best of luck
