Strategy to obtain US Amex

Some people mentioned it upthread. Maybe those that haven't got an ITIN yet can get one with MAZA?

Its a lot cheaper at $50usd compared to theshstudio and even advertised as providing a bank account for address verification purposes.

I don’t have an Itin currently.
They didn’t ask to see the w8ben form. The guy just ask me if I had filled one out. It was only at Wells Fargo that they asked me that question. I’m not sure if you need a w8ben for each financial institution or just a one that covers every one.
Ah no worries ! Thanks for the reply.
Finally, when you open your Wells and BofA online accounts back in Australia, did the apps/websites require you to receive an OTP or some kind of ID verification ?
And did you open these accounts in California ?
Thank you in advance ! (And no further questions :) )

Just signed up for an ITIN with them. Painless automated process so far and a very reasonable price. I'll report back when I have a result in a couple months.

DP - Bonvoy Brilliant annual fee posted 2 weeks ago, asked about retention offers on chat today. Answer was ‘Nope’ 😢
oh god... that is brutal!

Any explanations? What`s your spending pattern on the card?

it looks like $50 USD a year?

Chase 120k SUB Ink Business Premier ($95 annual fee) now live.

I've got a Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless approximately 2 months ago.
As of now 14 months of credit history with Chase Private Client checking and savings, should I wait for couple more months or apply for it now?

Thanks

I don't think being a private client changes much. I think it's 2/30 for Chase cards but I'm not sure if they apply different between Business and Personal. Give it a go and let us know :)

When using a prepaid T-Mobile or Tello plan - if you receive a verification text and need to reply when not in the US… I take it you’ll incur in roaming charges?

My t-mobile pre-paid on wifi incurs no charges for calls or texts.

Thanks so much for your detailed reply.
How do you time your movement of 9k ? For example, do you deposit it at the start of the month, keep it there until the start of the following month, withdraw, and a few days later, deposit it back ?

Haha, speaking of faxes, it is still common in USA. Had to fax some docs to AMEX USA last year.
No worries - I tend to do it in $2k blocks every few days in the first couple of weeks, withdrawing I so straight away, it's back in ANZ in minutes 🤣.

Haha why doesn't that surprise me! I guess it'll live on for a while...we used to be able to fax from work using the MFDs that mainly print, scan and copy, but I guess they pay some sort of subscription and nobody used faxes, so they don't work for that any more.

Ditto, it won't roam but Wifi calling is fine, and it's all part of the monthly topup (when using wifi calling, for all intents and purposes, you're in the USA).

Telstra works the same way, unfortunately Optus and EE won't work outside Aus/UK respectively (but they do roam at least).

Got knocked back by Amex gcr team for my family members gt application . My planet express add was identified as a mailing service .
So they need an actual physical address and also evidence of a utility bill or bank statement .
Anyone have any ideas ?

I wonder what this means for existing customers?

Will it be problematic when we try to apply with a PE add?
