Strategy to obtain US Amex

From Googlefu skills many overseas hiltons do trigger the aspire credit on online prepaid rates. Hilton Tokyo Bay comes up a lot as an example. Apparently international Hiltons are set up differently in the back end? Or something like that.

All Hilton bookings in Japan are processed at the local property.

I don't think that triggers the Aspire credit but Surpass. No email delivery though so it needs to be shipped to somewhere in the US. People have been buying $50 + $1.95 shipping quarterly on Surpass.
Agree, I accessed it using Touch VPN set to NYC, site works, but delivery only to US as you say. Didn't try as I use the credit anyway, but a way to guarantee use of the resort credit would be good.

Would like to know - have read similar for other countries (a UK Amex I have had an offer for UK Hiltons, which was convenient as I needed to stay in some at exactly the right time).

Not sure about others though - I have used the resort credit in Fiji and Sri Lanka (I think that's it?), but on postpaid rates. Thankfully Hilton Yala LK accepted Apple Pay, because I left the physical card in Australia 🤦‍♂️

I received an unsolicited letter in my US address from Oportun. Did a google and looks like some dodgy person loan provider, anyone have any experience? I'm guessing my US bank sold my details for marketing as they always do.

I’m totally freaking out. This popped up on Textnow. I can’t log in. I’ve had this number since May 2022 and never any problem before. I submitted the appeal but it’s a holiday weekend.

If I try to call it has a message that it’s no longer in service.
Follow up. I waited over a week to chase them up because of Thanksgiving holidays in case they were backlogged. I did the online chat and presented my case as best I could. US citizen with passport and SSN who travels frequently. Only using the number for banking (true). I couldn't convince them without being physically in the US and they block VPNs. The best I could do is get the details to port the number to another carrier. The number is paid for until May 2025. I won't be communicating with banks until at least March or April by phone. My B of A cards are locked so can't be frauded. I'm not in a hurry to get a new phone carrier especially if it costs money.

I'd consider Tello if I can be sure it works with B of A and Chase text messages.

Just got instantly approved for Citi AA biz. Been wanting to apply for a business card but didn't think of Citi until seeing above posts. I was at 3/24 but 0/12 and no hard pull past 14 months. Quite generous with a credit limit as well (16k) considering I already have almost 30K with them.

Heard they don't like seeing any hard pull in the past 6 months but that might depend on your credit profile.

I am using Tello $5/month with unlimited Text and works with Chase, dont have BOA.

Any thoughts on the new BOA Alaska Card? 3x on all foreign transactions.. could achieve something with Chase cards but might be easier to manage if you're into Alaska.
