thanks, so interestingly, couldn't get it to work so i restarted the phone and got a welcome message telling me the service is active. thinking great

look back shortly after requesting a one time pin via sms and i'm not connected, try playing around and restarting phone again and no luck.

Switched to my work phone hotspot and works instantly. So may have issues with home Wifi but all good on work hotspot.

not ideal but should enable me to apply for GT.

Thinking of starting the ITIN journey. I have seen from earlier that Maza is the cheapest. Is it still the case or is SH Studio better?

Willing to be patient, won't be getting another US card for a while yet.

I believe Maza is closed - I have done SH Studio for me and wife - $395 US - not cheapest but super easy and quick on their end - rest is up to IRS

I’m got my 5th approved last night and still needed to call - they just wanted to confirm my ITIN and ask to send in with Passport

Look on fiver - you may be able to find a service that can do it much cheaper

Does she need to be careful with what she says? if i prep her that she now lives in sunny Vegas I assume she can't really say anything wrong.

Maza has long since died unfortunately. You can do it yourself on the cheap - someone here did - possibly Georgie.

quick one, just reviewing HSBC statement before calling Amex and it doesn't include the private mailbox number, will this matter for address verification?

interestingly, i received mail which had the PMB on line 1 of the letter from them.

note: the main address is all there.

OMG stuffed up at the first hurdle. I already put PMB on the GT application, should i just not call back and let the application lapse?

I'll update HSBC with APT instead of PMB while i do this.

It will be fine - when its approved and you get to set up profile on Amex you can then change to APT

She called and was told she'd get a link to upload her verification docs after verifying her name.

She got an email saying they've made a decision but i can't view the decision as no SSN. So now will need to wait 3 days for them to post.

assume she was declined given she didn't even get to verify her documents.

if declined does she need to wait another 90 days to re-apply?

Do you have ITIN? - if so can substitute ITIN wherever Amex asks for SSN - may be asking to verify name via Passport. If dont have one can always call again on GT line and ask for alternative method as dont have ITIN or SSN

ohh really, but the email actually says "We've finished reviewing your application" and if we don't access via the link they will post. doesn't sound like it's to upload passport.

I don’t think it would hurt to call back on the GT phone line and ask how to access link without ITIN. If someone more recent has done a new GT they may be able to contribute

Just Applied for a US Amex via Global Transfer and got this message below. Before I call them, what info are they after? Thanks

So I had to wait til midnight Sydney time to call them (8 am Eastern time)...got through and the agent said he couldn't see an issue with the application but he needed the Global Transfer team to push it through but they only opened an hour later...called back at 1am Sydney time and whilst I was on hold, the Global team approved it with a ridiculously high credit limit (I guess I can reduce it later). The only Qs I got asked were my year of birth, and to...
