Strategy to obtain US Amex

But in new world order - who knows
This is the issue

The current administration has just allowed border/homeland security to access IRS records - unprecedented.

I’m actually using a relative’s address - I also don’t want ICE breaking down their front door !!

SoFi and Alliant allow you to open a non resident account so no perjury
Thanks - I may give one of these a go

Thanks for info
Do they allow you to use your Australian number as a verification for Chase especially if on profile?
I am also getting verifications in the app. They used to use the TextNow but the new Tello has not been tested with a verification request yet.

The fraud notification I just noticed went to Tello by text and also email.

Any Citi Aadvantage Business here? need DP please

They denied me 6 months ago due to insufficient credit history (15 months credit history at the time)

Now, my credit history is at 24 months, 5 accounts, 744 Equifax Fico, 3 inquiries.
I've read Citi Business version required at least 5 years of credit history and ITIN applicants required lots of documents and working visas info etc?

I really like to get the 75K miles SUB
Thanks

Where have you noticed this ?
One family members checking account was opened in dec . Received an email few days back to say coz of crime , laundering etc they need to verify identity over a call .

Another persons acccou t was opened on second attempt , after a few months , but no automatic log on details as before , need to speak to them again .

Might be misreading the tightening

Does the US Amex GT application form have the ability to disclose both a US residential and a US mailing address?

Am mindful that one other FI I recently set up an account with has been sending mail to each of my residential address and mailing address and I’m keen to make sure all Amex mail goes to my US mailing address.

I've had the US HSBC account for ages. I'm Premier in AU so I could open that one up (and I did it before HSBC jettisoned their US operation) and they haven't charged me that I've noticed. I think for as long as HSBC AU is a "thing", I'd just keep using the $A9K/month workaround. I think over time, once you get your ITIN, you'll be able to open checking accounts with other banks and then let the HSBC one go and you'll have a US bank account. YMMV.
I havent paid the 9k into HSBC in aus in 6-12 months and I still have premier accounts open with no fees.

Anyone using interactive brokers got reviewed:

We’ve detected frequent deposits and withdrawals. IBKR conducts regular due diligence reviews on irregular client deposit and withdrawal activity, and we are inquiring about the below activity:

  • What is the reason for the frequent number of deposits and withdrawals to and from your account?
  • Please explain the reason for payments to US credit facilities such as AMEX, ALLIANT, HSBC & WISE.
If so how did you answer? I've read some people online got shut down for answering honestly...
Yeah I got an email saying I ned to deposit like 2k usd into keep the account active. I had soley been using it to transfer money to USA.

I had my auto transferring in/out of Aus hsbc messed up by some weekends without me noticing.

They sent me an email saying I had ?3 months to go back to adding $9k each month or they would remove Premier

Side note - US HSBC premier is actually a very good checking account. No charges for (at least domestic) wire out for Premier customers.

Every other US bank seems to charge at least $25 for a wire out

Instantly approved in December. Existing customer, ITIN, 3/24, 0/12, 9 years of history, 0 hard pull in over a year. Citi likes to see a clean file these days I believe ie no more than 1 HP in 6 months but people with more got approved as well depending on the files. Maybe try with less HP?

I've never done the transfer in or out (though my AU premier account gets > $9k paid in each month)
