Strong winds on the east coast - 02 Dec 2019

My sister-in-law and her family have been affected by this (today) Late departure from BNE. It looks like they will misconnect in SYD, on a trip to CGK on QF41.

Looks they're being rerouted...
 
Highest wind were upto 26 knots from the west at 10.40, now decreasing down past 23 knots. Looks like this will be the forecasted wind speed for the rest of the arvo
 
YBBN is gusting to 32knots at 280, so a new 90 to the runway.

This little screenshot shows how the crosswind affects the approach. Both aircraft from the west I've observed so far overshot the centre line. The let joining from the east undershot.

Great day for flying. Well almost any day is better for flying than office work

Seems to have been a very windy year at PQQ. General consensus seems to be that the winds won't drop until we get significant rain. We have only had just over 400mm of rain so far this year-annual average is just under 1600mm
