Knowing that we have QF employees lurking around here, here is hoping they see this thread.

Something I was thinking which would really improve IFE would be a "shortcut" to the moving map. Right now when you wish to switch between a movie and the moving map, you need to exit out of the movie, get yourself back to the main screen, and then find the map button. (Sometimes it's not on the main screen either).

Of course to then restart the movie you need to go through the menu system again and find the movie you where watching.

What would be nice is a simple button on the menu inside the movie which allows you to bring up the moving map, and then a button inside the moving map menu which will restart the same movie from where you left off.

The other nice thing would be to place details (such as speed \ height \ times) at the top left \ right corner rather than consistently switching between info pages and the map.

Just a thought.

FWIW, AirNZ have this facility in both their Int 320's and 77W's.

In fact with the 77W's you can access the Map as an on screen pop-up while watching a program (which pauses until you close the Map pop-up).

Sounds like a good suggestion.

One more than occasion I have wanted to get an update on the map while watching a movie. Helps if you have a spare seat beside you but that is not always the case.

I seem to recall being able to do this on a QF 380 about a year ago (though it was a reduction, not the full content as found if exiting the movie)... Next flying on a 380 on Dec 26 - I'll see if I can find the same option and will post back (with pictures if I'm successful) :)
