There was a piece about this on channel 7 news tonight....it said the outside of the plane is now fully restored but they now need to restore the inside
The plan isn't a complete restoration, and it's complicated by the fact that the plane QFOM has was a cargo variant (hence the painted on windows). I'm told that there is one actual Qantas Connie left in the world... in pieces, literally! It was used as target practice in Kuwait. The museum plans to send a team over at some point to salvage whatever they can, but the main idea behind the interior will be to partly recreate the cabin and the other part an interactive display.
The museum has done a lot with technology, such as Microsoft-surface style interactive multi-touch screens with animations and facts that you can browse. I imagine they will want to carry this forward into the interior if possible.
