Super shuttle - car seats for toddlers?

I was looking to book some super shuttle airport transfers (JFK, maybe DCA) and noticed that they do not provide car seats for children (they are responsibility of parents). Upon further research it appears that they are recommended but not necessarily required by law for shuttles or taxis. Can anyone confirm this?

Friends of mine holidayed in NYC last year and confirmed this was the case - not LEGALLY required to have bub in a car seat. They weren't overly comfortable with it though and took him in his Baby Bjorn with a pillow between him and back of front seat. I guess it depends how good / quick you are at installing your own seat and whether you want to travel with it? Otherwise, would a chauffered car be in budget if they can install one for you, or could you look at Public Transport instead?

Legally it's apparently ok, just depends if you are both comfortable with it.

No they don't

If you can get to a Walmart or Target in USA you can buy them for $40 - Cosco seat range - full upright booster seat.

If your child is 12 months or older this one is good:

Thanks for the prompt responses. I might then get that Costco car seat to have.

Cosco, not Costco. If you unpack it carefully you can save the plastic it comes in which is a bag. It can then go back in the bag and you check it in for next flight.

I have bought lots and the US and usually bring them home so I have a few in the garage!

Oops, just noticed! Thanks for the correction. I even thought of just leaving it in the US after travels are done with

Yes, I have done that too.

They can be fittle to cars here - have the isofix system and also top tether/hook strap that our regulations require
