Swissotel Price rate guarantee

Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you guys know my experience for whoever is thinking about it.

So, I booked a room for 3 nights in Sydney via agoda.com for AU$760 (refundable with coupon code) and then I browsed their site and found that they do price match if you book directly with them as long as it is the same type of room with same conditions (not with coupon code or a different currency) - Their price was about AU$870. Was really happy with the deal I got on agoda.com.

I was browsing my expedia mobile app, price was AU$764 without coupon code. Booked a room directly via Swissotel site instantly and called the best price guarantee team in US, told them the link but they can't access it. Told me to take a screenshot and send them the image and they would honor the nightly rate (excluding taxes) +10% off as advertised on their site. They honored it for AU$691 + taxes = $702

Last time I tried a BRG with Swissotel (Fairmont) the conversation went like this:

Me: "I found a better price on x website for y Swissotel"
Them: "Oh, we can see a better rate here in our system".
Me: "But it's not available to me online, therefore surely the BRG still applies?"
Them: "The rate is z...which is lower than even the 10% off and has the benefit of being fully refundable - do you want it?"
Me: "Yes please"
