Hi all

Just received an update that my flight on Thursday has changed to a 734 from a 738. I am still in 4C. Is there anything different about that row compared to the 738? Is the leg room the same? I wont have any bags (just iPad) so could move to the exit row if the leg room is standard leg room.

Cheers

No curtain. Probably similar leg room.
The 734s have more legroom in the first five rows as these seats are convertible to business class.

Nothing to worry about, just a little older.

Row 4 on the 737-800 has more leg room, it is a bit 37 inches seat pitch, similar to business class in the 800. In practical terms because the seats are thinner row 4 has more leg room than even row 2 or 3.

On the 400 it is only 35 inches seat pitch as are all of the first 6 rows. Having said that row 4 is still ok as normal economy seats only have a 31inch seat pitch.

The SeatGuru does contradict what I have just said, but SeatGuru is wrong. I have measured them.

Thanks guys - only a short flight as well - just interested. I am not sure I have flown a 734 on this leg previously.

No priority boarding......from my experience........but that has mostly been limited to MEL.

Its an hour flight ... I am sure you would survive that even in seat 22B.

I do hear this a lot but like many here I do this trip a lot so the seat is important to me. I flew 79 sectors last QF year probably 50 of them short haul whY - that could have been 75 hours in 22B - not enjoyable at all.

But this question was about one single sector, not about the other 78 sectors. We all know you are not going to relegated to 22B unless you choose to make a last miniye flight change to an almost full flight. Row 4 on a 734 vs row 4 on a 738 is not a problem to be concerned about. There are much more important things in life to consume your worry quota ;)

Row 4 and 5 on the -400 are actually the J seats, but reconfigured with 3 seats per side instead of 2. They are my favourite Y seats on QF Domestic.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but are there really 22 rows on a 737?? :p

On a more serious note, I've sat in Row 4 and 5 on a -400 and the legroom is ample.. more than row 7 onwards..
