Am looking for information on good companies for car services - that's chauffeur driven or taxi - in Switzerland?

Looking for a chauffeur to take us from Lausanne to Lucerne in September. Quotes I have received so far for the 2.5 hr trip are very adventurous and range from CHF600 to CHF1800!

I see that Sixt and Swiss Travel Transfer offer services for around CHF5-600.

Anyone have any recomendations or reports?

I would take the train.

Swiss trains are brilliant and luggage can be rolled on, no steps to negotiate (unless you have the rare bad luck to get a train that has come from the far less efficient Germany or Italy).

Back in 2016 I was able to buy a Swiss rail pass before leaving Australia, that meant all my train fares in Switzerland were half price. Can't remember the name of it, but it was downloadable and printable (unlike the following year's experience with Deutsche Bahn where I bought a pass that had to be mailed from Germany and took 4 weeks to arrive).

Yes I like swiss trains and have used them in the past. Now, unfortunately, we have some mobility issues so the train would be much more difficult and porter services at stations are practically n on-existant these days. Hence the need to a point-point car service.
