Save the date!

1st January sounds like the time to try something new :D

So, let's catch up for drinks etc while checking out the (very) newly rebranded Hyatt Regency Sydney..

161 Sussex St, Sydney 6-9pm
More details to come!

Today Hyatt confirmed they are coming to this party, and will be doing a few things for us :D

We start with arrival nibbles, on them, someone will come long later to speak to us, and there will be a couple of very handsome prizes that the winners will really enjoy..

It's all shaping up nicely..

Please fine tune whether you are coming so that I can get numbers to them for space & food. At the moment it's looking like 20-40.

Bronze for us as we'll be around MEL CBD that evening (different Hyatt).

Starwood is still taking bookings although has conditions changing on Dec 1, so there is almost a month of limbo

LEAVING STARWOOD ON DECEMBER 1, 2016

The Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour will be leaving the Starwood system on December 1, 2016 and rebranded as Hyatt Regency Sydney. Reservations for dates on or after December 1, 2016, will not be eligible for Starwood Preferred Guest membership benefits, award redemption or accrual. Reservations will still be accepted after this date.

Staying in Sydney over New Year can be pretty hexxy in the city if you book late.Last year we had friends stay at Rydges Sydney Airport and they were happy campers. The only thing you have to know is that the train to the airport did not run all night as the airport has a flight curfew so expect a taxi or uber ride cost.

Copper :p

I like the idea, but may be recovering from water consumption the night before.

If you are staying overnight on the 30th of this month you checked into a Starwood and will check out from a Hyatt.

By the looks of it this will be confused for 26 days..

But with everything from signage to hotel guides and pens to change its a big job.

I assume the new tower extension opens on the 26th??

On NYE I switch to ice water around 10pm penegal.
Of course we go back to champagne for midnight.

Unlikely to make this as was planning on having a long NYE at a favourite bar on the GC! Doubtful I will want to fly the next day, and then have to spend big to stay anywhere in SYD. I shall be down the following fortnight though for the opera.

House-sitting for friends over the NYE week-end. Will be at a (hopefully jaded) loose end on NYD, so no reason not to visit the Hyatt Regency. I'll ask Mrs D

Barring any last minute issues I believe that date is correct.

The plaque on each side of the main entrance went up overnight on the 30th/1st.

The Hyatt Regency sign on the Sussex Street entrance went up in business hours on the 1st.
