Looks like construction works will impact hire car pick up and drop off in Sydney. All providers moving out of terminal complex to Ross Smith Av.

Below part of letter sent from Hertz.

Key Points
● A free car rental shuttle service provided by Sydney Airport will transport Hertz customers from dedicated kerbside stops
outside the T2 and T3 Terminals to the temporary car rental pick up point on Ross Smith Avenue in the South-East Sector
● Only customers with an existing car rental booking will be able to access the complimentary car rental shuttle service from
T2 and T3 Terminals to the pick-up point
● Customers without a booking must arrange a car rental at the in-terminal rental car desks at T2 and T3 prior to accessing
the free shuttle service

I used the shuttle parking last week and they were telling me that it will take two years to fix the situation. I was concerned as I had a 6 am flight and prefer to arrive at the airport by 5 am for this. The shuttle driver told me they clock on at 5 am.
As it turned out, it was OK. I arrived at the Avis entrance at 4.30 am, had to hoot to get them to open the boom gate but a full size metro bus turned up shortly after. The driver did a drive by of the other hire car yards, then had to do a three point turn and head for the airport. I was the only passenger but the driver told me that early arrivals are abandoning the cars on the side of the road, outside the yards, and his job is to come by and deliver the pax to the airport.
Hard to see how this will be sustainable for two years.
