So how'd you get back to SYD?

the same way..... he said he bought 2 return fares syd-lax and lax-hnl, so syd-lax-hnl-lax-syd.

You can do that on one ticket for about AUD1480 with United at the moment also.

Excuse my ignorance, but why would the age or appearance of the crew matter?

There is no ignorance at all. This sensitive aspect is raised time to time, and all I can say to this, is, it is just a personal preference. For me, I feel more comfortable around those my age, and more often than not, those in the similar age (to me) interact more and thus often provide a better service meaning I get a better travelling experience.

So one day,if you are lucky, you will prefer the older crews :!:

I thought that there may have been a safety aspect or something I was missing.

Do you mind me asking what age this is?

I suppose it is personal but I have never noticed a correlation between quality of service provided and age of the flight attendant.

This is almost on topic for which I apologise in advance :!:

Is it possible to purchase MEL/SYD to HNL using AA points and if so, how is this done :?:

What's crazy about taking a long route to a destination;)

It once took me 52hrs of flying to get home from JFK to SYD, and I did not go east of New York at any stage - JFK-ITM-EWR-JFK-ITM-SYD, luckily in J :p. It was not planned that way but it is what happens when you board the wrong plane and no one worrys too much until your airborne.

That could be a record.:shock:Did the right SC's and points post?

At least it was J.

I guess JQi pursers generally be in the 25-35 age range, so I'm somewhere in the middle of that ;)

It was with NWA, the points did post, NY-ITM-SYD twice in two days - at the time there were bonuses on J travel that meant I got enough to go SYD-LAX on a reward later that year.

I just flew SYD-HNL-LAX-SYD on QF in whY.

The 763 on the SYD-HNL route has to go. I guess travelling SYD-MEL you do not notice how uncomfortable these planes are, but on a 9hr flight it blows my mind that QF insist on flying this aircraft. My flight was 100% full. Two toilets were broken, Y class was a hell zone, and the seats were shocking. Even the 15" CRT's that pop down from the ceiling were not working so they couldn't get a movie going.

The only saving grace were the terrific crew...but unfortunately the friendliness of the crew and the numbness of my butt have no correlation.

Guess when there is no competition this is what happens...

I think it may be the lack of other planes, rather than the lack of competition.

Interesting as we're looking at HNL in Jul 2012 to meet the In-laws.

Looking at J on QF for Mrs 11 (with points) whilst junior and I will go *class. I think 9 hours in the Domestic J seat will be ok.

I'll tack a HNL-AUA status run in there which will have me back in Perth after having earnt 1400 SCs approx three weeks after my anniversary. Nigh on two years of Platinum for me! :D:D (Here's hoping the Yup fares still work out)
