SYD-LAX J (or even any) redemption availability

I'm looking for 2 J seats in Sept/Oct, and I can't see anything other than Any Seat (the ones for ludicrous amounts of points) I've tried spot-checking other months into next year, checked for Y, and still nothing.

Is there an easier way to check other than manually clicking through each day?

And can anyone suggest any alternatives to VA for easier redemption availability to the US?

Did you check each day ? You just have to click through each day


October 2.. 2 seats SYD- BNE-LAX

October 19 2 seats on VA1 SYD - LAX

300 - 330 days out is best. ( Sept being 4 months away is unlikely )

Plenty of Y in October 2 seats

Thanks CJEMNMAC - I only spot-checked Y and J, and am in the middle of doing a systematic day-by-day search of Y+/J. Will return to do another pass for Y.

That's really far out. I take it that if there are no reward availability for redemption then an upgrade would not be available either? (I assume the seats come out of the same fare bucket)

I've got a similar question. Very infrequent VA flyer and redeemer. Tried to see MEL-JFK awards for Nov and even fro 330 days out in Apr '17. Can't seem to see anything other Any seat at 500k points or so each way. Is there a way to restrict search for reward J seats, and show a calendar rather than day by day (somehow I did get a calendar but don't know how).

No - you need to click through every day (quicker to do this from the results page rather than 'modify search').

Do any other sites (like Award NExus or EF) provide ability to search for VA awards in a better way?

Try DL, as it's VA's partner and also flies SYD-LAX as well, you can use VA points to book DL.

DL reward availability will be a lot more restricted than VA and probably zilch

Unfortunately a manual day by day and scroll down each page check is required to find these seats. There is no other easier way
