Thursday is a good choice because I just passed Assamm and they are closed for maintenance till -- Thursday.

There is another Thai restaurant in the Rocks which is owned by AFF member Homer. I have eaten there quite a few times now. The food is great, although it's a little more exxy than Assamm, although their rent would be higher I think.

It is indeed a great restaurant - and sadly closing at the end of August so if you want to go I'd go sooner rather than later.

Alas I'm booked solid this week so won't be able to attend a dinner - EOFY is my busiest time of year

I was wondering that, a few others know my real name - usually enough to say it's booked under that. First option is to stand around looking confused and we'll try to spot you.

I'll be wearing my usual lounge gear: thongs and hi-viz.

In this weather that's brave. I have thongs with me, but I'm worried about frostbite and gangrene.

Yes, Homers' restaurant is Sailors Thai and sadly, they are having to vacate due to the wishes of the owners...you can read it all here. Bookings for groups of 5 or more (for tables) should book here. If you want to sit at the canteen table (seats ~40), there are no bookings - just show up and see what spaces are available.

I couldn't eat there on this weeks 2 day trip to SYD, but I will on next trip - and I'll probably start a thread for an AFF EAT DO there before it closes. I love it and will miss it.

Hope those attendees have a great meal and some fun tonight at Assamm...
