If you go to the QF website, under (status privileges/status benefits), it does state that QFF P1 gets higher upgrade priority.
Also QFF WP and QFF P1 priority Y seat purchase.
And all except QFF NR get Preferential access to Qantas classic award seats.
As a QFF SG/QFF PS, I never got the T-80 benefit, always only able to check in 24 hours prior.

As usual this is confusing to read and seems a bit irrelevant what perks WP/P1 have as opposed to your argument.

Also I think you may misunderstand T-80. It is NOT about checking in. It is about being able to change a seat allocation to any open seats in the cabin. I am not sure what you have tried but T-80 is definitely a thing and even up to earlier this year at least a QFF Silver relishing taking a seat in row 4 on BNE flights since I told him about T-80.
