SYD to LHR via LAX

Have Virgin Australia stopped flying this route? Planning another trip to UK and fancied a change from Virgin Atlantic's via Hong Kong option

Wow, never knew that was an option (though TBH as a former QF man I only ever paid attention to OW and partners). My guess is with EY and SQ their LHR needs are met and they can get rid of it (VA codes ex-SYD, MEL, BNE are EY and ADL, PER are SQ metal). LAX seems like a very inefficient way to get to LHR, not just in terms of distance but also having to go through the rigmarole that is transit in the US.

Virgin Australia have never flown LAX - LHR, however you could connect to NZ or VS in LAX.

Air New Zealand does an AKL - LAX - LHR?

This week we start an RTW where we go PER-SIN-LAX on SQ and then LAX-LHR-SiIN -PER on BA and QF. It is all on points with J and First flights.

When I was looking at that routing last year, I was surprised to see VA did offer it as an option using VA to LAX and VS to LHR. Added about $1000 on a PE flight as compared to $3K via AbuDhabi.

There was an option connecting with VS in LAX - may be they have withdrawn it due to the extra time and the strong relationship with SQ and EY to LHR
