Going for a short trip to Singapore and Malaysia to visit friends I haven’t seen for 3 years and going to fly business on SQ.

Is $4200 a reasonable price to pay for return? Never paid for business flights with cash so not sure if this is normal or inflated price.

Also are the SilverKris Lounges all open in Sydney and Singapore?

It seems a bit high to me. I paid $7,500 to go to the UK and back, which is nearly 3 times the distance iirc. Certainly significantly more than double. I did this in Feb, though, before fuel went up.

Having said that, I just tried on the MA app, and I can't get anything less than $5,000 return to KL, so perhaps that's a perfectly good price given SQ is better.

Yes, SK Lounges are open. You can also us the NZ lounge in SYD if that takes your fancy. The KF Gold Lounge in SIN has reopened, so the overcrowding in the SK lounge should have subsided.

> $4k is on the high side but there is currently *huge* demand for premium cabin seats across all airlines / destinations.

Thanks for the reply. I just checked and the current prices to London via Singapore is around $9000. So fuel prices must've pushed the ticket prices up...

$4k to SIN return on SQ? Not out of kilter with forever. I used to travel a lot (admittedly from MEL) in business on SQ and it was rare to get this at much under $3.5k - that was 14 years ago now.

Recently (in the other direction, ie ex -SIN, my partner had to do a short notice (two weeks) business trip and the quote was about $7k AUD. QF no cheaper.

If you want cheap - look at Philippine Airlines. But painfully long.

It’s actually cheaper to fly to another SEA port with SQ which might be a consideration. SYD-SIN-KUL for example is $3400 so not only is it $800 cheaper but you are also getting a free SIN-KUL return flight “thrown” in.

Question? I have purchased and Paid for return SYD-FRA on SIA for 6200. I fly out 29/8 . As mentioned above with cost of Fuel they [SIA] cant put my Fare up can they?.

That would be very unusual! In fact laws against it?

Only possible if you want to voluntarily change your flights (depending on fare rules). If you take your originally booked flights then a categorical no.
