I believe you have the choice of the SkyTeam Lounge or Qantas Business Lounge.

I am also flying MU SYD-PVG-FRA in business next month so looking forward to your review. I'm planning to check out the SkyTeam Lounge for something different...

SYD SkyTeam Lounge is decent enough for an hour or two. Food quality can vary greatly from experience.

I am guessing your check-in would have been only available at the MU desks?

Check in open more than 3 hours before our flight as there was an earlier flight to Beijing.

This might give you some guide about how to find your way through the transfer formalities, including express security if your connection becomes tight.

PVG to YVR 6L

Plane configuration to YVR has changed. At check-in was told business is 2-2-2. Online check-in showed 1-2-1. I've opted for the centre 2 seats.

Sorry - I read this the wrong way around. Going from 1-2-1 to 2-2-2? In that case centre seats are preferable. No one to climb over you (or to have to climb over) to get to the WC.

Now in Skyteam lounge. Very underwhelmed. If Qantas business lounge is a 6/10 then this is a 4/10 at best.

About 1/3 of the size of Qantas Business.

Toilets in a disgusting state.

Same type of seating as CX (reverse herringbone). Talking between the centre seats not that easy. Unless you have a particular preference for the middle, the windows are better, even if travelling with a companion (more space, more privacy, control of the windows).

Too late now. I took the centre option as I thought it might be difficult climbing over my partner in the middle of the night with the 2 seats against the window.

Apologies - I misread your post above. I thought it was going 2-2-2 to 1-2-1. But if it is in fact 2-2-2 you do want to be in the centre seats.

Given the choice id not come back here.

Interesting Qantas business not mentioned at check-in as an option. We were given a voucher for Skyteam and told it was near gate 24.

Yes I thought you would have been entitled to the Qantas Business at least. Was thinking of having a shower at the SkyTeam Lounge initially, think I'll scrap that idea now. Hopefully the lounge in PVG is in better shape.

I believe I am entitled to enter Qantas business. I was just noting that it wasn't mentioned at check-in.
