The gate pass is a rip-off. Last time I used the Airtrain I already had a MyMulti day pass so I got off at Mascot (where you don't have to pay extra) and walked the rest. It only took 20 minutes or so, and the exercise was good.

I find the walk at this time of year to be a bit warm as well, if it's not raining.

There is an extra charge for using mascot, but not as big.

I thought it wasn't actually dropped but that the NSW government have paid it. It certainly wasn't dropped by airport link.

NSW Government paid compensation to Airport Link to remove gate charge at Green Square and Mascot, in 2011 I think.
