I got back to SYD this afternoon and was hoping to get there but the shocking weather and my carry on luggage got me home instead. Hope to make it to the next meet.

Yes, it was a great evening. I left around half seven from memory and the conversation was still cracking on. I blame the leaky roof for placing a small bucket in my exit path to which I managed successfully managed to tip over. I had forgot it was there despite warning others of said water hazard.

Scarily, placing my PS card on the table did the trick for the first few. Someone at the table had their AF Gold which came out later just for good measure. A WP was later produced, as winglets747 asked what colour they were. And here I was thinking aviation journalists might have flown enough for membership and perks

Members were educating winglets747 on all things QF, the hi-viz brigade, and award redemptions, while others were regaling the group with stories of turboprops, terrible parents and their spawn, status runs, disgusting lounge attire and pancakes.

A great night was had by all, and to steal from fmr. PM Bob Hawke, any AFF member in SYD who doesn't make it to the next drinks night is a bum. Look forward to seeing you all at the next one.

Sorry - last minute stuff... was sitting in office at 12pm pondering wich train to take into Sydney at 4pm for drinks, by 1230pm, was pondering which flight to take to TSV.

Funny enough, I sent a TxT to our MOD markis10 to see where he was (we have a history of being in the same towns at the same time) and it turned out he was in TSV staying at the HI as well, so we had a couple of SYD (distance) drinks
