Sydney early departure

Can often get the Ibis budget at the airport for around $110. We have stayed there in the past if we only need it for a few hours.
Us too - and they used to have a free shuttle to the airport as well (pre-COVID) so it was quite an attractive arrangement. We also live in CBR and have had the same issues with early flights out of SYD - and by early that pretty much means anything before about 0930-1000 if you want a connecting flight or take the bus.

Yea i'm looking at going via PER as that gets me into the uk around midday rather than nearly 7 at night, plenty time to say hey to the family before getting out on the drink :)

If you are coming from Canberra catching a Murray’s coach would solve all your problems…if the late night departures are still running. The midnight service would get you to SYD in good time.

That said we have recently had a reasonably early start and stayed at the Rydges which worked well. Sydney airport parking had some good deals for 4-6 weeks parking in P3 which worked well for us.

Yes, but Murray’s not running a full schedule at the moment.

Any hotels near SYD airport (Pullman etc.) have shuttle transfers to the Intl terminal? If not, do Taxis do the short trip or do they avoid at all costs.

Rydges on a couple of minutes walk.
Novotel has shuttle and have taken Uber to/from Pullman many times

Thanks, I've booked Rydges.
Are you able to check-in and drop your bags at First Class check-in suite the night before a morning departure (OWE travelling in J)?
I've done this when staying at MUC Hilton.

Book a night at Rydges. 5 minutes from shower to check-in.

Yep. Hard to think of a better case for an airport hotel than this.

I've caught the flight in question probably 4 or 5 times and getting a decent sleep beforehand really helps immensely. This is one situation where laying up at an airport hotel is worth every cent.

That seems to be the case right now. Hope it changes soon...
yea the covid excuse is pretty damn thin these days, murrays are useful but technically horrendous. more than one terrible experience from people who have not changed the way they run their business since the invention of the computer.
