Just wondering if I can use Sydney Qantas First check-in counter for an EK flight booked through Qantas? Flying first class with EK

I don't think so as QF wouldn't have access to EK's check-in system

Pretty sure EK panders to its F class pax more efficiently than QF ever will. 🤣

The EK First checkin line is unlikely to clogged with hoards of WPs travelling Y with their kids, aunt and dog and about a billion bags to slow it all down. (Before I’m flamed, I am a WP who uses that checkin when in Y…. Just alone and quickly 😜)

While the QF F at SYD is nice, I haven't tried the squid, as my flights in F were to NZ, so only ever had the breakfast in the QF SYD F lounge, but its nice.
Apart from that, tho, the EK lounge, if your flight leaves lunch or evening, try the salmon in the refrigerated round servery.
Never seen that in any other lounges!
While the EK lounge at SYD might be on a lower storey, ie, not in the zone of the F lounge, its still nice.
The post was nothing to do with SYD F lounge v EK Lounge.

It was about the check in counter.

Exactly this. As someone who checks in at T-(120-90) I have never waited at EK Check in at SYD.

Not really. The same QF WPs can use the EK F checkin line also with their kids, aunts, falcons etc 😉

They’re only processing one flight at a time but it’s rare to wait (or wait long) at QF F checkin. If there is a wait, the J line is going to be much longer…

Walking to the Express Path I've seen the QF F check in line snake outside the cordoned off area on many occasions during peak travel periods.

I would just go to the self serve kiosks if that happened to me. Fortunately it hasn’t. The last long wait was just post Covid and the F checkin area was still closed. I would have gone to the kiosks but there was still all the paperwork check shenanigans…

I have had to wait to enter the F checkin area where Mr Man goes through his questions “Where are you going? What is your favourite colour?” Weeding out PAX to the US - meanwhile no one in front actually checking in….
