With my one year of platinum running out soon, (unless there is some divine intervention) I found myself having to head to NZ from regional WA.

This is also only the second time I have left Aus, ever, so was also impressed with the transfer system from domestic to international. Would say that from stepping off the flight from Perth to being through customs on the other side was less than 30 minutes.

Once coming out of customs must say I was quite overwhelmed by the amount of duty free and the sheer size of the Terminal.
After walking around a bit I found the Q lounges and was warmly welcomed by a man at the door.

Once I had a arrived upstairs was straight away offered a drink and a menu. The staff were helpful and happy to discuss the food offerings. They may have had a bit of a chuckle when I asked if they had any Australian sparkling after being offered some champagne!
The setting and the view was truly amazing I thought, almost 'First Class!!'

I had a few different food offerings and some yummy Sth Aussie Cab Sav. (My favourite tipple) from 2008.

Doubtful I will get to experience this again, so after reading from people who have been there I was a little bit excited about the opportunity to visit and I was not disappointed.

Was also impressed with how peaceful it was at probably about one third full, enough to give a bit of atmosphere but with plenty of room to not feel squashed such as at domestic lounges if one is there at the wrong time
