The Sydney Marriott has become a Pullman, following the acquisition of the Mirvac portfolio by Accor

Sydney Marriott Hotel will be rebranded Pullman Sydney Hyde Park in the first phase of an integration program following Accor's completion of its acquisition of the Mirvac Group’s hotel interests in Australia and New Zealand.

Accor has unveiled plans for the previously Mirvac-managed property will undergo a $7m refurbishment including renovation of rooms and “significant upgrades” to the hotel’s lobby and public areas.

Pullman takes over Sydney hotel

The takeover of the Mirvac hotels happened on the same day that Accor sold Motel 6 in the States to Blackstone who are accumulating quite a large hotel portfolio including Hilton and La Quinta.

Marriott Sydney is in major need of a room refurb, be interesting to see what Le Club do with this property. Views are good, but average room price for what's on offer has always been poor.

I would imagine Brisbane will have the same fate, sure will be an Accor town when it comes to hotel with 8 properties in the CBD.

Got this from Mirvac as a share holder-
As announced on 22 May 2012, Mirvac completed the sale of its hotel and resort division, and as a result the Mirvac Exclusive Card is no longer valid. The Group is pleased to announce that Accor has introduced a special program for Mirvac securityholders providing a 15% discount off the best unrestricted rate of the day across the Accor global network.

And the Sydney Marriott is the only marriot to be rebadged-no others owned by Mirvac.

Mirvac must have sold the Brisbane Marriott earlier, so Brisbane does have some choice left!

I'm staying at the Brisbane Sebel Suites (on Charlotte St) this week.

Got in the lift tonight and my room key card didn't work. Went to reception and the gent behind the desk swapped it for a shiny new accor card :)
Just hit GHA Black level too, so I guess that will be of less use to me now (at least that gave me free internet and a couple of free beers each trip!)

so ... I've just used the platinum signup in this forum to sign up as a plat.
Doesn't look like there are a whole lot of benefits, other than perhaps crediting some points to QFF??
