SYDNEY QANTAS CLUB USAGE

Last time I was silly enough to fly JQ from SYD T2 (many, many years ago) IIRC there was a QC lounge at the T2 terminal for JQ pax. I have been silly enough to book JQ again and am wondering about my lounge options as a QF SG. Can anyone who uses JQ enlighten me on my options

The T2 lounge closed when QantasLjnk moved to T3.

You are entitled to use the T3 lounge but means clearing security twice, and leaving the lounge with sufficient time to get back into T2.

I don't use JQ - for many reasons - but one of those reasons is that your only option for a Qantas lounge flying JQ DOM is to get there early enough to walk over to T3 from T2after check-in (if you have bags), clear security and go to the T3 lounge. Then you do the same in reverse to get back to your gate at T2. I suppose you could just go straight to T3 if you had HLO, but you still need to transfer over for your flight. No thanks!

I suppose you could just go straight to T3 if you had HLO, but you still need to transfer over for your flight. No thanks!

I will be HLO and at a quite time of the day so shouldn't be too bad through security. I think I will give it a try. Thanks for the comments

I always used to use the downstairs security checkpoint in T2 when walking over from the Qantas Club in T3 - rarely ever any lines. That being said, I haven't flown JQ for quite a while now.

Its really not far to walk from T2 check in to T3 - and if you’re SG you never have to wait too long to clear T3 security. I guess returning through T2 security would be the only issue.

I did this 2 weeks ago and doing it again next week.

Check-in at T2, 5 minute walk to T3, 5 minutes through T3 security and you're in the lounge.

Coming back to T2 I leave 20 minutes before scheduled boarding so if departure is 5:00pm leave the business lounge at ~4:10pm. I guess if T2 security queues are busier then leave an extra 5-10 minutes earlier.

Keeps up the step count but I really shouldn't be complaining with $34.50 JQ airfares.
