The trial flight yesterday seems to have gone well. This was in today's Canberra Times:

Apparently there would be 3 CBR-SYD round-trip flights per day. The first flight out of Canberra in the morning would depart from the airport (but not the main terminal) as the seaplane can apparently not takeoff from the lake in foggy weather (an issue in winter). Likewise, the last flight for the day would arrive at the airport as the seaplane cannot land on water at night.

Flight time to Sydney would be an hour, and if successful they apparently would also like to start flights from Canberra to Jindabyne and the NSW South Coast.
