Sydney to New York in January 2013 in whY

I am looking at spending 3 weeks in the USA in January, I have already booked classic award flights for QF107 on 31/12/12 and QF108 on 22/01/13. I would happily cop the cancelation fee if anyone can get a more appealing deal than $850 + 128,000 points (Must be a OneWorld carrier)

I also need an SC run, I pretty much want a push towards platinum. I will have a decent number of domestic flights in the lead up to my time in the US however I don't know exactly how many SCs I will net before my SC run.

I need to be in Washington DC (Either DCA, IAD or BWI) ideally on the 19th on January (Prefer by early evening to settle in to my hotel) however I am happy to leave New York (Either JFK, EWR or LGA) on the morning of the 16th or 17th (but can leave earlier if a good run requires it)

Basically I am allowing the morning of January 16th or 17th to evening of January 19th for a run. No strict budget but prefer to keep it sub $1500 if I can get 900SC for that I would be cheering but whatever I can get I am happy.
