Gi guys, can someone please explain this one. I have just flown Sydney to New York in business. Two segments Syd to Lax and Lax to Ny. 2 tickets, 2 different planes . I was awarded 240 SC's. I expected 280 based on 2 segments. I have read the t& c 's and it refers to segments as basis of earning. It was same flight number all the way through but was 2 tickets and 2 segments. What am I missing. Important to me as I will now be about 30 SC short of WP t end of October ????

The same flight number will give you credits for SYD-NYC direct rather than via LAX.

It's a trap for young players.

Greg.

The only time a same flight number does to count as one journey is the obvious one, when you break that journey, which in airline parlance is a stopover of at least 24 hours.

That is strange if they are on two separate tickets, as the OP said, I would expect them to credited separately.

Were they on two separate etickets with different numbers? Were the two tickets joined together? How did you book them?

Sure if it is one ticket it would be reasonable for them to be credited together. But for two tickets it seems a bit unusual.

can't be two separate tickets, QF don't sell LAX-JFK

OP means two boarding passes you'd think

Unfortunate but nothing you can do OP - do a status run

If they were on Qantas flight numbers, then if they had somehow managed to be on separate tickets, I would think Qantas would merge them. I understand they are pretty careful at making sure LAX-JFK is never on anything other than an international itinerary.

They gave me 280sc when I upgraded SYD-LAX to F with LAX to NYC back in business both on QF107. I can only assume it was because the flights were in different classes even though I only received J crediting which is what was I paid for. This was a surprise but noticed I only got 240SC when I came home on QF108

That's strange; it's very hard to book QF107 SYD-LAX and same day QF107 LAX-JFK on the one ticket. To upgrade so they need to be listed separately.

Are you sure it was a same day connection at LAX though to JFK?
